The 30th annual SCU Lake Nockamixon Century will take place on Sunday, August 24, 2008, starting from Central Bucks South High School, 1100 Folly Rd, Warrington, PA 18976. Ride 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles on scenic routes in Bucks County. The terrain is rolling with a few hills. A hilly 107-mile Intensive Climbing Unit century route is also being offered. All riders will visit picturesque Lake Galena in Peace Valley Park. 50-to-107-mile riders will also visit our well-stocked rest stop at scenic Lake Nockamixon. Registration: $20 (SCU members), $25 (non-members), by August 22. Registration on August 24 at CB South HS will be $20 (SCU members), $30 (non-members). Children under 12 ride for free but will not receive the Polar Water Bottle; under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration includes: marked route, cue sheet, rest stops, SAG support, and a post-ride meal (with vegetarian option). Rest stops have a large assortment of home-baked snacks. |

SCU announces the Intensive Climbing Unit (ICU) route for the Lake Nockamixon
Century. Ride 107 miles with 500-ft more climbing than the non-ICU century
route. The ICU route includes three extra-hilly segments that are not part
of the standard century route.

CB South HS is located on Folly Road between Pickertown Road and Bristol Road. If you are familiar with CB South HS, proceed to the Folly Road entrance, where the parking volunteers will direct you. Please do NOT use the Pickertown Road entrance or the Bristol Road entrance.
From PA Turnpike (I-276) Exit #343 (old Exit #27) - Willow Grove:
Take Route 611 north 6 miles and turn left on Bristol Road. Go 1.5 miles and
turn left on Folly Road. Go 0.5 miles and CB South HS will be on your right.
From New Hope/Central NJ:
Take Route 202 south to Route 611 south. Stay on Route 611 for 3 miles, then
turn right on Bristol Road. Go 1.5 miles and turn left on Folly Road. Go 0.5
miles and CB South HS will be on your right. From New Jersey, an alternate route
is to take the NJ Turnpike to the PA

Make sure your bike is in good working order. Pump up tires to the pressure specified on the sidewall. Bring essentials: 2 spare tubes, pump, patch kit, tire levers, 2 water bottles, ID, cash, medical insurance card. Eat a good breakfast consisting of carbohydrates and proteins.

The Lake Nockamixon Century takes place rain or shine. No refunds. Distances are approximate and are subject to change. Helmets are required for all riders. Support ends at 4:00pm. Roads will be open to automobile traffic.
The free Polar Insulated Water Bottles must be picked up on the day of the event; bottles will not be mailed in the event of a rainout. For the combo Quad County Metric / Lake Nockamixon Century registration, the Quad County Metric shirts will be distributed only on May 10 and the Lake Nockamixon Century water bottles will be distributed only on August 24.
No confirmation of registration will be issued by SCU. If you register online, print your BikeReg.com receipt for confirmation. For mail-in registration, your canceled check is proof of payment.
