Excursions are field trips to rides outside the Philadelphia area which are organized and led by a member of the club. Some excursions benefit a charity, others simply stretch your horizons; all are lots of fun! Contact the leader listed below if you are interested in participating, and be sure to observe all deadlines.

Spring-n2-Cycling Weekend – May 1-3
Join the SCU group at the BCP Spring-n2-Cycling Weekend in Danville, PA. Includes meals and hotel accommodations. We will be staying in the quaint, historic town of Danville, which lies along the Susquehanna River. Danville is nine miles west of Bloomsburg, a university town and site of an LAB cycling rally in 2000, and 16 miles east of charming Lewisburg, home of Bucknell University. Between towns, we cycle along pastoral landscapes and lots of historic covered bridges. This picturesque region of Pennsylvania is well-known for its local cycling teams and annual rides. The terrain is mostly rolling, although steep hills can be found for the challenge-seekers! There are flat roads along both sides of the river. Bicycle Club of Philadelphia (BCP)
Kent County Spring Fling – May 22-25
Join the SCU group at the Baltimore Bicycle Club’s Kent County Spring Fling, in Chestertown, MD, on Memorial Day Weekend, May 22-25. Enjoy four days of cycling on the upper Eastern Shore, with lodging and excellent all-you-can-eat meals at Washington College, only 90 miles from Philadelphia. Ride 11-100 miles per day on flat to gently-rolling terrain. Every day, all rides start and end at the college, so there is no daily packing and unpacking of gear. The
Chestertown Tea Party Festival, within walking distance of Washington College, offers many non-bicycling activities for the entire family. Register early because this event usually sells out. Specify your club affiliation with SCU on the registration form.
